Your Wind Turbines, Your Data.

Take Control of your wind turbines with a wind turbine controller retrofit.

Upgrade your wind control algorithms to see AEP gains of 2.3%

Gain OEM independence by retrofitting a wind turbine controller

Wind turbines can be a black box when it comes to data. OEMs typically guard the data behind hardware and systems that prevent owners from access and then sell the access back to them. Typically the nucleus of this problem is the wind turbine control, this interfaces to all sensors, cabinets, converters and pitch systems. By replacing this system you can gain control and access over your own turbines and start to self-perform without having to pay OEMs to access it.

Increase AEP by 2.3% by retrofitting controllers

Much as the mobile phone in your pocket has changed in the last 20 years, so has controller hardware and algorithms. With more CPU, greater understanding of the wind and site specific conditions and a greater array of AEP features there has never been a better time to upgrade your 2MW wind turbine. Earlier cut-in, cut-out extension, pitch and in flow optimisation and much more.

Improve data quality and WTG access

Whether you are trying to access operational or reliability data, having controller access can greater improve data access both in terms of resolution and speed. Sometimes data requests to OEMs can take weeks and the resolution is poor. You might receive a CSV file once every 24 hours with limited tags or parameters. With a controller retrofit you can not only access this data but you can customise the resolution, modify parameters and override alarms.

Why retrofit a WTG Controller?

There are many beneficiaries of wind turbine controller retrofit. SCADA teams get higher resolution data and super user access. Technicians gain a touch screen display with fast response and easier troubleshooting of faults. Wind turbine owners can typically get lower O&M costs as anyone can now work on their turbines improving tender competition. Grid operators also benefit from compliance as a new WTG controller can allow variable voltage control and active and reactive power management. IT teams benefit from increased cyber security. Life extension teams are safe in the knowledge that their controller hardware has been updated, has product longevity and support but also the turbines can now be adjusted in line with the operation strategy beyond the intended design life. Reliability teams now have greater access to fault data and can look to seamlessly integrate CMS systems to provide advanced lead time to failure on major and minor components of concern.
